Could Reza Pahlavi Be Subject to an Interpol Notice?

Tehran says indictment filed; Interpol action remains uncertain.

Tehran’s Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor has announced that an indictment has been issued against Reza Pahlavi on multiple security-related, terrorism-related, and organized crime charges, and that the case has been referred to court.

The alleged charges include:

  • Directing, commanding, ordering, and organizing terrorist and violent acts, as well as financing activities attributed to organized groups and networks
  • Cooperation with hostile governments during times of conflict and committing crimes against the country’s external security
  • Espionage and intelligence and operational cooperation with foreign intelligence and military services
  • Causing and ordering crimes against individuals’ physical integrity, including allegations related to kill, intentional bodily harm, and other offenses arising from the violent acts cited in the case
  • Causing and ordering the large-scale destruction of public, state, and private property, as well as national infrastructure
  • Causing and ordering the seizure of government premises, organizing violent acts, arming opposition groups, and other alleged actions against public security
  • Incitement and encouragement of violence, riot, war, killing, and disruption of the country’s order and security
  • Propaganda activity against the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran
