Bazaar: How does artificial intelligence affect the efficiency of industries?
Lanzguerrero Obeid: Let's first make something clear. AI in itself is no magic. To be useful, AI needs to be understood by management. Understanding WHY we use AI will have more impact than implementing complex algorithms without understanding their impact. Once we understand the problem we want to solve, AI helps us uncover patterns invisible to the naked eye. The technology helps us digest our data and unravel its mysteries. The results may be varied: from predictive models that can help us forsee how something will behave in the future, to tools that understand natural language and act accordingly. These, in conjunction, can help us deliver better customer service, for example.
Bazaar: What are the important factors in the better performance of artificial intelligence in business?
Lanzguerrero Obeid : First and foremost, understanding the business side: why are we doing what we are doing?
Secondly, all of AI is based on deep Mathematics. It is crucial that we understand the mathematical models we are applying and what these models are doing to our data. If we have clarity on the models then we will understand how they are influencing our business.
Finally, we must ensure everyone in the organization can leverage this models. For example, we can have a very deep analysis on our sales and our customers' patterns. However, if our marketing department does not know how to make better strategies with our findings, as data scientists we are not fulfilling our objectives.
Bazaar:What measures should governments take to facilitate the use of industrial intelligence?
Lanzguerrero Obeid : Governments have a callenging role on AI.

On the regulation side they must understand AI to ensure they can help companies find the balance between innovation and the risks it poses to society, as AI can be a double-edge sword.
Along with regulation, education is key. Promoting the inclusion of AI on high school and college students can ensure the country is ready for the future. Right now there is a shortage of talent on AI. Any country who develops a strong capability on AI will be ready for the future.
Finally, the governments must make sure that the tech is not abused. AI can quickly become a tool to monitor population, sometimes with catastrophic results. Governments must make sure ethics prevail over business interests and population controls.
Bazaar:What are challenges in using AI for organizations (about cost, , skill, infrastructure and etc)?
Lanzguerrero Obeid : Even before the technical and mathematical aspects of AI the main challenge is that business leaders must undersrand how and why AI is important to them. They don't need to know how to do things but they sure need to understand what to do and how to orchestrate it. This is difficult, as someone who studied finance or HR, for instance, might not have the basic tools needed to understand the demands of AI.
Once management is ready, they need people who have the proper skills to execute the strategy.
Addionally, companies will always have to understand the costs and benefits of their solution to ensure the value they are adding is greater than the economic and human cost.
Bazaar: How artificial intelligence affects the economy?please give statistics in this area?
Lanzguerrero Obeid : I am not qualified to speak of the macroeconomic impact of AI, as this requieres a deep understanding of a country's economy, and might even vary per region. However, I can tell you stories of my customers. Some of them have increased their sales up to 13% by going strategies that yield ROIs of more than 1000%. If we do a simple argument we could see that by adding sales with AI we help businesses get better results, which creates jobs. This is a virtuous cycle that will strengthen the economy naturally. Ethical AI can for sure be the growth factor for the 21st century. It will help us go forward as a society.
